About Us

Vasilisa Talvirskaya was born in 1989 in Moscow, USSR. Grew up in the family of a non-conformist artist. She was trained at an art school. Despite the creative environment in childhood and irresistible craving for art, due to tragic events in the family, professional development in this direction was suspended. The familiar world became “dangerous” and forbidden. It took time for the artist to realize that in reality nothing can be an obstacle in the manifestation of herself.

Active creative practice from 2020. In 2021, the artist immerses herself in contemporary art, begins to use various mix media and materials, in parallel deepening her knowledge of art history. During this period, the central theme that the artist is still working with today – “deafening silence” – begins to take shape.  She defines it as the search and exploration of all those processes that arise against the background of the calmness of sound, as well as inaction. Often finding them in the human being, who by nature is capable of both the speech act and voluntary silence. The artist is interested in the conscious blocking of everything painful with the formation of a “deafeningly silent” discrepancy between the external and the internal. In her practice, the artist works with the contrasts described above and does so all the time.

For this purpose, the artist uses the format of installations, conceptual statements, expressive performance, performance, and often secondary use of different materials. The conceptual artist also works with graphics, painting, sculpture and photography.

Inspired by artists such as Jacek Tylicki, Ai Weiwei, Ines Hildur, Andy Goldsworthy, Yoko Ono, El Paso, Claudio Parmigiani, Georges Mathieu.

Vasilisa Talvirskaya (1989) is an artist. She was born in Moscow (USSR) and has been living in Valencia (Spain) since 2022. Growing up in a family of artists, she spent most of her life among creative individuals. She received art education and returned to active art practice in 2020, engaging in contemporary art and exploring various techniques and materials for self-expression while deepening her knowledge of art history. Her works have been exhibited at the Zverev Center in Moscow and Galeria crearte JLN in Valencia.

The main theme of her art is the exploration of the phenomenon of “deafening silence,” and manifestations in a state of silence such as emotions, feelings, reflections, and mental inactivity. She delves into the profound and unconscious processes of the “self” that, despite their “silence,” “deafen” the observer’s mind. Through her art, Vasilisa T. focuses on the emotional and sensory energies hidden in the silence of the surrounding world. In 2023, the artist founded the creative group “ARTCollab”.

An important aspect of the artist’s work is the reuse of various materials, which serve not only as artistic expression but also emphasize the need to contemplate and discuss the significance and impact of silence in our world. Vasilisa T.’s art encompasses various art forms, including painting, graphics, mixed media, sculpture, and performances, giving her works a multidimensional and profound character.
